Q. What’s with the Cup?
A. The cup you see at the beginning of my articles on DonMondell.com could be filled with coffee, tea, soup or water, but what’s the point? Consider something Jesus said…
“Truly I tell you, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to the Messiah will certainly not lose their reward.” Mark 9:41
I’m not so much interested in discussing the “reward” part of that verse, rather the “cup of water.”
If you’re thirsty a cup of water is refreshing; a cup of soup is nourishing. A cup of coffee or tea can be comforting, especially among friends. My hope for this website is that it may be a symbolic cup of water, soup, coffee or tea—refreshing, nourishing, comforting.
If you are broken Christian, I offer you this website; I hope it to be refreshing, nourishing & comforting to your soul. Consider it a “cup of coffee” shared among friends. I can say it no better than this…
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. – Isaiah 61:1-3
